In this role, you’ll combine technical expertise with analytical thinking, taking ownership of payroll and expenses while ensuring full compliance with legislation and company policy. You’ll work independently, take initiative, and confidently make informed decisions that keep everything running smoothly.
WHAT YOU’LL BE UP TO
PAYROLL DELIVERY & OWNERSHIP
- Take full responsibility for multiple payrolls: monthly UK & ROI, weekly UK
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems like iTrent and Sage
- Ensure all payroll outputs are reconciled, validated, and ready for approval
COMPLIANCE & GOVERNANCE
- Keep payroll fully compliant with UK & ROI legislation: PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory payments
- Stay up to date with legislative changes
- Support audits with clear, structured documentation
- Prepare statutory submissions, including P11Ds
EXPENSES MANAGEMENT
- Manage the end-to-end employee expenses process via SAP Concur
- Validate claims, ensure compliance, and reconcile payments
- Analyse spend and produce monthly reports
REPORTING & INSIGHTS
- Deliver high-quality payroll and expense reports to support decision-making
- Perform variance analysis, payroll-to-ledger reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting
- Present data clearly for non-finance teams
FINANCIAL CONTROL & RECONCILIATION
- Prepare and post payroll and expenses journals
- Reconcile control accounts and support year-end reporting and audits
- Play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and integrity
ARE YOU OUR PERFECT PARTNER?
- You have strong UK payroll experience (ROI knowledge is a bonus)
- You’re confident in managing payrolls independently
- You’re experienced with payroll and expense systems (iTrent, Sage, SAP Concur desirable)
- You have advanced Excel skills and a love of working with data
- You have a strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
- You have Exceptional attention to detail and organisation
- You’re able to manage multiple deadlines without compromising accuracy
- You’re an excellent communicator with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- You’re able to use your Initiative with the confidence to make informed decisions
Not essential, but it would be an advantage if you have:
- CIPP qualification
- Experience in multi-entity payroll environments
- ROI payroll knowledge
- Experience using Power Query or basic VBA
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
- Competitive Salary: £40,000 Per Annum + Reward Scheme Bonus Company Sick Pay + Life Assurance: 4 times your annual salary
